Let's not forget the 5/8/77 Morning Dew. The first couple of notes ring out like church bells. Jerry and Phil weave a tapestry of sound - is Phil playing lead bass with Jerry setting the tempo and holding the song together? Or is it the other way around?

At any given moment throughout the song, everyone gets a chance to step to the forefront and showcase....Keith's wonderful scales and runs mixed in, around and on top of Jer's plaintive vocals - starting around 2:58 of Hunter's matrix version. http://www.archive.org/details/gd1977-05-08.111493.mtx.seamons.sbeok.flac16

Listen around the 4:57 mark....who is lead, who is rythmn? Who cares???

From 11 minutes until the end you feel like you are being inextricably pulled into a tidal wave of sound - Keith matches Jerry just about note for note starting at 11:37!!!!

This is close to being one of their perfect songs.
